ZYSA | TEAM MANAGER

Vision: ZYSA Team Managers envision themselves as the cornerstone of program communication, fostering a collaborative environment through open dialogue with coaches and families, and delivering clear information from the club.

While seemingly simple, the team manager role is crucial, keeping the team running smoothly. By handling essential paperwork, managers free up coaches to focus on developing players' skills and fostering their love for the game. ZYSA provides ongoing support to ensure managers feel equipped and empowered in their role.

Core Objectives:

  1. Support coaches, directors and administrative staff with portraying club communication effectively and efficiently.
  2. Cooperate with ZYSA standards before, during, and after each game or practice to make ZYSA more enjoyable for everyone.
  3. Assist success of the team in any way.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as the team contact between ZYSA and league administrators (ie. ISL, GLC)
  • Communicate any game or tournament information to the team including any changes
  • Ensure required documentation (Official Rosters, Player Cards) is up to date and available
  • Report ALL Game scores to league.
  • Maintain communication with the coach, club directors, admin staff and parents.
  • Oversee reschedules for the team in conjunction with the coach, administrative staff and league using PlayMetrics and GotSoccer.
  • Take ownership of any other items that can distract the coach from his or her job.

Communication/Scheduling

  • The manager will work in tandem with the coach to ensure pertinent information is relayed to the team.
  • ISL or other league scheduling meetings occur at a time set prior to each season. The manager and/or coach will need to attend to set the game schedule with opponents. Be aware of any conflicts with players (school breaks, major school events, tournaments).
  • The manager will communicate games, practice changes, and tournaments through the PlayMetrics Team Calendar. The manager will notify the team of updates as needed.
  • Ensure all parents have access to the PlayMetrics app and are able to sync team calendars to their devices.

Game Day Responsibilities

  • Print 2 game cards from GotSport. One will be given to the Center referee and the other to the opposing teams coach.
  • Pay referees prior to game and submit player cards to them.  Referee money is mailed to the manager before the season by ZYSA once you submit your number of games to the ZYSA Registrar. The manager will pay half the referee salary for each game (home & away). This amount will be provided at the scheduling meeting or can be found on the league website.
  • Report ALL game scores after game to the league using the QR code on the game card. (Steps for this are listed on the game card)
  • ISL Game Day Information Sheet - List of Game Day Procedures

Tournament Responsibilities

  • The manager does not have to register the team for tournaments. The Director of Coaching (DOC) will do that for the team.
  • The manager will collect all required documents to check into the tournament.
  • Official roster and player passes can be downloaded from GotSport
  • Waivers are typically found on the tournament website
  • Out of state tournaments must be approved by Indiana Soccer. Permission to travel is requested via a Support Ticket in GotSport.
  • Most tournaments will use GotSport for online check-in. Please upload the documentation before the check-in deadline.
